I was contacted by leather artist Kate Connors owner of Cattle Press Leather, an amazing store where we can find  a great range of  leatherwork goodies… starting  from belts, bags , shoes, to clothes, jewelry and much more. Kate is inspired by early North American leathercrafters from the early sixties and late seventies as well as Native Americans. Her individual craftsmanship defines the unique quality of the collection and detail of handwork. She offered to giveaway a beautiful pair of leather rings titled “His and Hers”. The girls ring is a braided leather turks head knot and the guys is a solid leather band with a snap closure.

OMG I can’t believe Gretchen won!! Wow guys, I am really disappointed with the judges decision. Her collection was great, don’t get me wrong, but it was average, nothing very creative, repetitive,  almost no colors and it was something that we can find in many stores. Although I love her bohemian vibe, her floaty dresses and the fact that I would probably buy some of her clothes, I think she was not the best one out there. In the other hand, Mondo created an innovative collection, with variety of colors, prints and shapes.  He really thought of the whole look, from the hair accessories, to the pompom shoes, etc. He’s very talented and that showed on the runway. It was a tight decision, and even the judges were fighting about it, on Mondo’s side was Heide and Jessica Simpson, and on Gretchen’s side was Nina and Michael Kors (which was a big surprise for me!), and ’cause these last two are the  “heads” of fashion, they chose the winner. It was very frustrating for me, and I hope next season they’ll make better decisions! What you guys think, Gretchen deserved to win?

OMG eu não posso acreditar que Gretchen ganhou!! Uau gente,  eu realmente estou decepcionada com a decisão dos juízes. Sua coleção foi muito boa, não me interpretem mal, mas foi normal, nada muito criativo, repetitivo, quase não há cores e foi algo que podemos encontrar em muitas lojas. Embora eu ame a sua vibe boêmia, seus vestidos floaty eo fato de que eu provavelmente compraria algumas roupas dela, acho que ela não foi a melhor lá. Por outro lado, o Mondo criou uma coleção inovadora, com variedade de cores, estampas e formas. Ele realmente pensou no look todo, desde os acessórios de cabelo, até os sapatos com pompom, etc. Ele é muito talentoso e isso foi mostrado na passarelea. Foi uma decisão apertada, e até mesmo os juízes estavam brigando por causa disso, no lado do Mondo esteva Heide e Jessica Simpson, e do lado da Gretchen estava a Nina eo Michael Kors (que foi uma grande surpresa para mim!), e porque os dois últimos são as “cabeças” da moda, eles escolheram o vencedor. Foi muito frustrante para mim, e espero que na próxima temporada eles tomem melhores decisões! O que vocês acham, Gretchen mereceu a vitória?

Happy friday, lovers!!

And there we have it, the finalists of Project Runway! And they are: Gretchen, Mondo and Andy. Not really a surprise for me , cause let’s be honest, Michael C. was not a very good designer anyway (ooppss!). Although I hate her bitchy attitude,  Gretchen since the begging of the season was the one who attracted most of my attention, her clothes were always wearable, cute and somewhat boho. Of course sometimes she dropped the ball, but who doesn’t?!  In the other hand we have Mondo, a designer with a very unique aesthetics. His creations are super exotic, with impeccable sewing and I like the way he loves to play with bold colors and prints. He was on the bottom, only once on the whole season, so I think he has a big chance to actually win this! And last but not least we have Andy. He is the one who is always trying to push the envelope and to bring something new to the table, sometimes i think he tries too much.. and that isn’t good. I didn’t like his collection, so it’s not on the gallery below, but head over toProject Runway site and see what you think.

Feliz sexta-feira, lovers!!

E aí temos, os finalistas do Project Runway! E são eles: Gretchen, Mondo e Andy. Não é realmente uma surpresa para mim, porque vamos ser honestos, Michael C. não era um designer muito bom mesmo (ooppss!). Embora eu odeio sua bitchy atitude, Gretchen desde do início da temporada foi a que mais atraiu a minha atenção, suas roupas eram sempre usáveeis, cute e um pouco boho. Claro que às vezes ela deixou a bola cair, mas quem não? Por outro lado, temos Mondo, um designer com uma estética muito própria. Suas criações são super exóticas, com costura impecável e eu gosto muito do jeito que ele adora brincar com cores ousadas e estampas. Ele esteve na lista dos piores, apenas uma vez em toda a temporada, então eu acho que ele tem uma grande chance para realmente vencer essa! E por último mas não menos importante, temos Andy. Ele é aquele que está sempre tentando inovar e levar algo diferente à mesa, às vezes eu acho que ele tenta demais.. o que não é bom. Eu não gostei de sua coleção, por isso não está na galeria abaixo, mas va no site do Project Runway e veja o que você acha. ;)

Yeah it’s finally friday!

On this episode the designers were asked to create a look inspired by a New York City landmark. With two days to complete the look, a budget of  $500 and NYC as inspiration, I expected beautiful creations to represent the city. But instead, the final 5 designers brought dark looks that did not resemble their landmarks nor New York. I feel like this season has the least talented people, and for that reason I don’t even have a favorite designer yet! Although, I disagreed with the judges, Michael C. (2nd pic.) was named the winner, but i gotta say that i liked Andy’s (1st pic) design a lot more. Below are my favs, but take a look at Project Runway site and choose which one you like better.

Yeah finalmente é sexta-feira!

Neste episódio os designers foram convidados a criar um look inspirado em um marco da cidade de Nova York. Com dois dias para completar o look, um orçamento de $500 e NYC como inspiração, eu esperava belas criações para representar a cidade. Mas ao invés disso, os 5 designers finalistas trouxeram looks pretos que não se pareciam nada com os marcos e nem com Nova York. Eu sinto que essa temporada tem as pessoas menos talentosas e por isso ainda nem tenho um estilista favorito! Embora eu discordei com os juízes, Michael C. (2nd foto) foi nomeado vencedor, mas eu tenho que dizer que gostei do design de Andy (1 foto) muito mais. Abaixo estão os meus favs, mas dê uma olhadinha no site do Project Runway e escolha qual deles você gosta mais.

I’ve been postponing this post for a couple of weeks, so, I apologize you’ve already seen this photos in other blogs. But, I have to tell you how much I’m in love with both of these bohemian collections. The first one is from Roberto Cavalli, the master of sensual and feminine clothes, as you can see! His collection was very hippie chic with a sexy twist. I adored the soft colors, the maxi dresses, the fringe  and even the bracelets! The other collection that i wanna talk about is from Emilio Pucci, he also brought up the boho 70′s vibe to the runway, with amazing dresses, gorgeous blouses,  great pants and fabulous shoes. I am dreaming with every piece of it!! Hope you like it too.

Eu fiquei adiando este post por umas 2 semanas, por isso, peço desculpas se você já viu essas fotos em outros blogs  Mas, eu tenho que lhe dizer o quanto eu estou apaixonada por essas duas coleções bohemian. A primeira é do Roberto Cavalli, o mestre de roupas sensuais e femininas, como você pode ver! Sua coleção foi muito hippie chic com um toque sexy. Eu adorei as cores suaves, os maxi vestidos, a franja e ainda as pulseiras! A outra coleção que eu quero falar é a do Emilio Pucci, ele também trouxe a vibe boho dos anos 70 pra passarela, com vestidos incríveis, blusas maravilhosas, calças lindas e sapatos fabulosos.  Eu estou sonhando com cada peça dele! Espero que vocês gostem também.

Happy Friday!!!

First I want to apologize for not posting last friday, I was really busy the whole weekend and didn’t have time to create a post. But moving foward to yesterday’s episode. This challenge was very emotional and lots of tears were shed, first because the designers had the surprise appearance of family members as guests to help them get inspired to design their own fabric (same as last season, remember?) which had to represent their childhood memories. Second, because Mondo reveled a secret he has been holding for 10 years; he is HIV-positive! Omg.. he was very courageous, it was good to see his attitude, I am sure he inspired lots of people to do the same and feel great after all. His final creation (1st pict.) was, hands down the best on the runway. So of course he won, again! April also did good and Gretchen had a nice look but her print was only okay. Below are my favs, but take a look at Project Runway site and choose which one you like better.

Feliz sexta-feira!

Primeiro quero me desculpar por não ter postado sexta-feira passada, eu estava muito ocupada no fim de semana inteiro e não teve tempo para criar um post. Mas movendo para a frente pro episódio de ontem. Este desafio foi muito emocionante e muitas lágrimas foram derramadas, primeiro porque os designers tiveram a aparição surpresa de membros da família como convidados para ajudá-los a buscar inspiração para desenhar o seu próprio tecido (o mesmo que na temporada passada, lembra?) que tinha de representar suas lembranças de infância. Segundo, porque Mondo revelou um segredo que ele vem mantendo há 10 anos; ele é HIV- positivo! Omg .. ele foi muito corajoso, foi bom ver a sua atitude, tenho certeza que ele inspirou muita gente a fazer o mesmo e se sentir ótimo depois de tudo. Sua criação final (1 fig.) foi, com certeza a melhor da passarela. Então é claro que ele ganhou, de novo! April também foi bem e Gretchen teve um look bom, mas sua estampa foi apenas ok. Abaixo estão os meus favs, mas dê uma olhadinha no site do Project Runway e escolha qual deles você gosta mais.

Happy friday, my flowers!

For this challenge, the designers were asked to create a look that defines their point of view on American Sportswear and use fashion icon Jacqueline Kennedy as their muse, the twist was to create an extra outwear look to complement their creation. First I thought it was going to be an easy challenge for them, because Jackie O had a very elegant an chic look. But, apparently it wasn’t easy, because instead of delivering something clean and sophisticate most of the designer took a risk and showed outfits that looked nothing like Jackie would wear. Mondo did a nice job and deserved to win. Ivy did okay, but the other looks are not even worth talking about it. So, this is it for today. Below are my favs, but take a look at Project Runway site and choose which one you like better.

Feliz sexta-feira, minhas flores!

Para este desafio, os designers foram convidados a criar um look que definisse seu ponto de vista sobre  American Sportswear e que usasse a ícone fashion Jacqueline Kennedy como sua musa, o twist foi criar um look extra de outwear para complementar a sua criação. Primeiro pensei que seria um desafio fácil para eles, pois Jackie O tinha um look bem chique e elegante. Mas, aparentemente não foi fácil, porque em vez de entregarem algo limpo e sofisticado, a maioria dos designer tomaram um risco e mostraram algo que não parecia em nada com o que Jackie usaria. Mondo fez um bom trabalho e mereceu a vitória. Ivy fez ok, mas os outros looks nao valem nem a pena comentar. Então, é isso por hoje. Abaixo estão os meus favs, mas dê uma olhadinha no site do Project Runway e escolha qual deles você gosta mais.

Yes, it’s Friday again!

This challenge was very intriguing for the designers. Not only they had to design a resort look and work in couples, they also had to construct each other’s look. And in the end, each designer was judged for their design and not for the garment that they constructed! So, off course we were ready to see lots of drama. Ivy had problems with Michael D. because his construction skills were not so good, and Mondo was complaining that Michael C. doesn’t know how to do patterns. Oh..here we go..drama, drama.. typical!  In the end, April (2nd pict) finally won a challenge, but I keep asking myself if she can construct decent looks with the crazy ideas she has, or if she only won because her design was constructed by someone else? Andy also did a brilliant job, loved his purple creation.

Sim, é sexta-feira outra vez!

Este desafio foi muito intrigante para os designers. Não somente eles tiveram que criar um look resort e trabalhar em duplas, eles também tiveram que construir o look um do outro. E no final, cada designer foi julgado por sua concepção e não pela roupa que eles construíram! Então, claro que estávamos prontos para ver muitoo drama. Ivy teve problemas com Michael D. porque suas habilidades de construção não eram tão boas, e Mondo estava reclamando que Michael C. não sabe como fazer padrões. Ah .. aqui vamos nós.. drama, drama.. típico! No final, April (2nd foto) finalmente venceu um desafio, mas eu continuo me perguntando se ela consegue construir looks decentes com as idéias malucas que tem, ou se ela só ganhou porque o seu design foi construído por outra pessoa? Andy também fez um trabalho brilhante, amei a sua criação roxa.
