Today, I want to talk about a sad but very important issue that has been happening for years and years in Japan, but just now it is finally been revealed to the world, it’s the dolphin slaughter that takes place at The Cove in Taiji. The other night I cried my eyes out and felt sick to my stomach as I watched Blood Dolphins at Animal Planet (now every friday at 9 pm), the show is bringing up the true about how ignorant fishermen sell and kill poor defenseless dolphins in a unbelievable way. It’s heart breaking to see how human race is so disgraceful and how some people treat animals and mother nature with no respect at all! I wanna talk about, because more people need to be aware of what is going on, so we can come together and stop this once and for all and hopefully in a very short time! Also, I want to congratulate this documentary and the courage and determination of those involved. I hope that the government can take action in this cause. Let’s do whatever it takes to finish this… please help!!! Here are some ways to help:

• Sign the petition
• Text dolphin to 44144
• Visit Earth Island and donate.
• Don’t buy tickets to Sea World or any other sort of dolphin show.

Hoje, quero falar sobre um assunto triste, mas muito importante que vem acontecendo por anos e anos no Japão, mas só agora foi finalmente revelado ao mundo, é a matança de golfinhos que acontece no The Cove, em Taiji.  A outra noite eu chorei muito e me senti mal do estômago enquanto assistia Blood Dolphins no Animal Planet (agora toda sexta-feira às 9 pm), o programa está mostrando a verdade  sobre como ignorantes pescadores vendem e matam os indefesos  e pobres golfinhos de uma maneira inacreditável.   É de partir o coração ver como a raça humana é tão vergonhosa e como algumas pessoas tratam os animais e a mãe natureza sem respeito nenhum! Eu quero falar, porque mais pessoas precisam estar cientes do que está acontecendo, para que possamos nos unir e parar com isso de uma vez por todas e espero que em um tempo muito curto! Além disso, quero parabenizar o documentário ea coragem e determinação dos envolvidos. Espero que o governo possa tomar medidas em defesa desta causa. Vamos fazer o que for preciso para acabar com isso… por favor ajude! Aqui estão algumas maneiras de ajudar:

• Assine a petição
• Visite Earth Island e faça uma doação.
• Não compre ingressos para o Sea World, ou qualquer outro tipo de show de golfinhos.

I am very furious and sad about this oil spill situation, it’s been already 50 days since it started and BP is only making matters worse! So, I decided to show you guys a little bit about it and what we can do to help.  First, I want you to take a look at these very important facts provided by the fiscal times:

• BP’s controversial decision to break down the oil and keep it from reaching the shore by applying massive quantities of toxic chemicals known as dispersants has set off alarms among ecologists and other scientists.
• The core of these chemicals has traditionally been viewed as a tradeoff, reducing the amount of oil on the water’s surface and the coast, but allowing the oil to remain in the column, where it can threaten marine life.
• The dispersant COREXIT®9500 — the chemical BP is using — is considered toxic and could lead to unforeseen health and environmental problems. But it’s at least marginally better than the first dispersant used, COREXIT® EC9527A, which carries warnings that repeated or excessive exposure may cause injury to red blood cells, the kidney or liver.
• Some critics have accused BP of being less interested in the chemical’s effectiveness than in its ability to shape perceptions of the disaster by making it harder to see the oil. “They’re trying to dissolve it at the source so we don’t see it,” said Carl Safina, an ecologist.

• National Wildlife Federation – Text “WILDLIFE” to 20222 to donate $10 to help with the organization’s immediate response work as well as long-term.
• Oxfam America – The money will go to help support local organizations and immediate needs like HAZ-MAT training for fishermen.
• Oceana – believes offshore drilling will never be safe. If you agree, they have a petition with close to 80 thousand signatures you can sign.

Hello my flowers! How was your holiday? I hope it was safer than mine.

First of all I want to apologize for the lack of posts. Last week I was really really busy, than the long weekend finally came and I went to a farm with no electricity let alone internet! As you might know I love the outdoors, so this was a great opportunity to escape from this concrete jungle and to re-connect with nature. I woke up with singing birds, went on very long hikes, saw cute animals running free into the wild and felt the pure and fresh air.  Everything was going good until sunday night, when my dog got into a fight with another dog, and I tried to break the fight, which by the way it was a very wrong choice, because one of them ended up bitting my arm!!! It all happened so fast that I can’t even explain what really happened, I don’t even know who bit me (my dog or the other one). So, here I am typing with only one hand, taking medicines and trying not to move my swollen arm  (because it hurts)… But I always try to look on the bright side of the story, which in this case is:

• I learned a very good lesson!
• My dog is totally fine
• Thanks to God the bite wasn’t to deep, and definitely not one of the worse.
• And I am sure everything will be alright in a couple weeks.

Please learn from my mistake and never try to break a dog’s fight with your hands!!! LOL

Olá minhas flores! Como foi seu feriado? Espero que tenha sido mais seguro do que o meu.

Primeiro de tudo eu quero pedir desculpas pela falta de posts. Na semana passada eu estava realmente muito ocupada, e depois  o longo fim de semana finalmente chegou e eu fui para uma fazenda sem energia elétrica e muito menos internet! Como você deve saber eu amo o ar livre, então essa foi uma ótima oportunidade para fugir dessa selva de concreto e me re-conectar com a natureza. Eu acordei com o canto dos pássaros, fui em caminhadas muito longas, vi animais fofos correndo livre na natureza e senti o ar puro e fresco. Tudo estava indo bem até domingo à noite, quando meu cachorro entrou em uma briga com outro cão, e eu tentei apartar a briga, que por sinal foi uma escolha muito errada, porque um deles acabou mordendo meu braço!!! Tudo aconteceu tão rápido que eu nem consigo explicar o que realmente aconteceu, eu nem sei sequer quem me mordeu (o meu cachorro ou o outro). Então, aqui estou eu, digitando com uma só mão, tomando remédios e tentando não mover meu braço inchado (porque dói)…Mas eu sempre tento olhar para o lado bom da história, que neste caso é:

• Eu aprendi uma lição muito boa!
• Meu cachorro esta totalmente bem
• Graças a Deus, a mordida não foi profunda, e definitivamente não foi uma das piores.
• E com certeza  tudo vai ficar bem em algumas semanas.

Por favor, aprendam com meu erro e nunca tentem apartar briga de cachorro com suas mãos! LOL

I am an animal lover…so i feel really sad to see the way they are been treated. A lot of people kill them for stupid reasons It is a shame! So, today I decide to blog about this amazing campaign promoted by Portuguese Animal Rights League. Their main focus is to stop people from going to circuses and other shows with animals,because its about time that we stop the use of animals as an amusement resource! And another thing: I am totally against the use of fur! Who’s with me??

Eu sou amante dos animais …e me sinto realmente triste em ver a forma como eles são tratados. Muitas pessoas os  matam por razões estúpidas É uma vergonha! Então, hoje eu decidir blogar sobre a surpreendente campanha promovida pela Liga Portuguesa dos Direitos do Animal. Seu foco principal é  de impedir as pessoas de irem ao circo e outros espetáculos com animais, porque esta na hora de pararmos com o uso de animais como uma fonte de entretenimento! E outra coisa: eu sou totalmente contra o uso de peles! Quem está comigo??

Remember my post about The size issue ? I have great news!!! The april cover of Elle France brought the gorgeous and curvy Tara Lynn . I am really happy to see their effort in this cause and to know that they are trying to make a beautiful change in the world of fashion. Like I said before, the size you wear doesn’t really matter, you can look gorgeous even if you don’t wear a size 0. And this editorial “Pulp Fashion” comes once again to show us exactly that . I wish the fashion industry stopped once and for all the publicity around unhealthy models that most of the times struggle  to manage their weight leading them to poor diet, the abuse of drugs and many other problems. Hello flowers! How was the holiday?! I had an awesome day with my family. So, here are some pictures of my delightful chocolate eggs, definitely the best part of Easter for me (chocoholic). The egg symbolizes the beginning of a new life and it is a tradition for us (Brazilians) to give chocolate eggs to the ones we love. I personally love the chocolate tradition and I’m glad that even living in the US ,I get to enjoy these delicious treats.

65 years ago one of my favorites singers was born, the legend: Robert Nesta Marley aka Bob Marley. In Bob’s messages of peace, love and harmony he tries to show us the positive side of life. He was an One of a kind men, who became a big icon and a very recognized men all over the world. He left Earth in 1981, but his legend’s still alive in many hearts (like mine)…. here’s my favorite song and some pictures .
